How Can I help the City of London

Picture
Hello Everyone!

I bet you are wondering how I can help the City of London and why you should put your trust in me at the polling station? I can answer those questions for you.

Energy - I am full of energy and Ideas. If you and your neighbors have a concern that you want addressed. I will listen and provide assistance.

Change - The only constant in this life is change. I can adapt to changing needs, values and regulations quickly. If a new path or direction comes to light that is better for our needs I will peruse it.

Diversity - All peoples, all shapes, genders, ethnic origins, abilities and sexual orientations are necessary for our great city of London to grow and thrive. If we can maintain an open and diverse community we will be the World Class City that we deserve to be.

Community - London is my home, my friends have referred to me as an ambassador for London where ever I go. When I meet new folks from other cities across Canada I promote London as an excellent place to work and live. I love this Forest City of ours. I build relationships with in my workplace and the community at large. I believe that we can get more accomplished if we work together based on our common goals we can accomplish amazing things.

Ideas - I want to hear your Ideas regarding how we can make Living in London even better (I have plenty of thoughts myself). I am here to serve my City and Citizens.

Cycle - As our city goes through seasonal changes our needs change, we must be prepared for now, next week, next month and next year. I will work with you to ensure that new and recurring needs are met in our various City Cycles.

Adaptation - When projects take on new accountability, or people present unanticipated needs I adapt. There are never any problems or issues, only new opportunities for development and growth.

Platforms
I have been asked by many folks in London about my Platforms: "what are you running on?","what do you want to do?","what ax do you have to grind?"

Rebecca K. Wilson stands for:
  • Responsible growth and development. If there is no current or foreseeable market for any particular development then we don't need to pay for something that will not pay us back. Past opportunities for earnings have been lost to the pitch of developers.
  • Use of existing resources to improve Living in London. Community gardens are a fabulous example of using existing public spaces to improve the lives and growth of citizens. We should be encouraging private citizens to be ingenious in the use of the resources that they possess.
  • Low cost solutions do not always provide the best value to Londoners. Too many times I've seen the low bid win a tender. Cost overruns and less than excellent workmanship can double the initial bid and produce an undesirable result.
  • Fiscal Responsibility. I have been in the work force since the age of 12. I know how hard most of us work for our money. I will not needlessly spend when we can adapt products, services and facilities that are already established and re-purpose them for our new needs.
  • Everyone Needs a Purpose. Weather young or old, rich or poor, we all need to have goals and activities in our lives. If there is a need for a community group or centre in your neighborhood, I will work with you to develop a solution. I love people with passion and I will do what I can to ensure that needs are met.
  • Strength. Sometimes hard choices and decisions arise, most of us have faced these in our lives; I will not falter when tough decisions must be made. I will ensure that I am there for our Citizens when difficult votes have to be made. I will stand fast when the decisions I make are not in my best interest but are in the best interest of London and her people.
